Early season conditions are just getting better and better. There’s been ‘heaps’ more great news this week with more snowfall in resorts all over the world with more resorts opening early. Huge storms have hit Switzerland and France this week making an impressive start to the 2013/14 ski season. Keen skiers and snowboarders have been able to get their snow fixes earlier than they ever thought. Has this been the best start of season ever?
Warren Smith Ski Academy is taking full advantage of the fantastic snowfall in Cervinia. With 50cm of freshies falling in 24 hours there is excellent snow conditions on piste at the moment.
The 3 Valleys opens this weekend. Val Thorens is looking amazing after the huge storms in France, with 100cm base up top and 90cm below. Because of the fantastic conditions in Courchevel it is opening for free on Saturday after 30cm of snow on Wednesday. Tignes is still looking great from its consistent fresh snow and more is still predicted!
The best conditions in Austria are at the Kauerntal , Piztal and Hintertux glaciers with solid snow bases already. Kitzbuhel and Kirchberg have received great snowfall this week and both resorts will be open again this weekend. Resorts for top predicted snow are: Dachstein Glacier has 25cm predicted, Obertauern 18 cm and Schladming 18cm.
Resort across the pond are preparing to open, after 20cm of snow on Tuesday Sun Peaks is opening this weekend and skiers and snowboarders in Banff are enjoying powdery conditions in Lake Louise and Sunshine this week. After a snowy week in the USA, Heavenly, Vail and Park City are all set to open this weekend. Just 2 weeks to go...
