Snowy End To January

Snowy End To January

After a great start to the month January draws to an end this weekend and is boasting a snow-filled crescendo. Andorra and Spain are in for a bumper weekend as are Colorado and Lake Tahoe.

Aspen is enjoying a prominent position with the snow gods this weekend combining 20cm of snowfall with bluebird days on the mountain. Crested Butte, Steamboat and Telluride will also boast upwards of 15cm of Colorado's finest powder.

Snowy End To January

Heading back to Europe sees up to 15cm of snow hitting Spain's royal resort of Formigal and Andorra's big three - Arinsal, Soldeu and Pas de la Casa. France again gets in on the act with Alpe d'Huez, Les Deux Alpes and Isola 2000 all enjoying around 10cm of snowfall, with half of that arriving tomorrow, leading to a potentially awesome Sunday on the slopes.

The Italian resorts of Pila, Bardonecchia and Claviere can all look forward to a light dusting over the next few days, as can Switzerland's chocolate box resort of Verbier.

February is one of the most popular months of the year to ski, the slopes have had a good two months to build a base, the pistes and snow parks are shaped to perfection and the school holidays mean our protégés can take to the slopes for a week.
