Spring Snow

Spring Snow

It may be the first day of spring but we're not into the slushy realms of spring snow yet. Throughout March resorts in the Alps, Dolomites and North America have enjoyed consistent snowfall, with this week following suit.

America is boasting the best conditions this week, especially in California's Lake Tahoe resorts. Squaw Valley is boasting an incredible 70cm of powder with 60cm falling in Northstar and Heavenly. Jackson Hole's steep, challenging runs will enjoy the 30cm falling this week and Colorado's resorts of Aspen, Beaver Creek and Steamboat can all expect around 25cm of snowfall.

Canada is expecting a decent dusting this week after a few weeks of heavy snowfall. Big white, Kimberely and Whistler can all expect around 15cm with Fernie, Silver Star and Tremblant getting a 10cm top-up.

Back in Europe the snowfall is much lighter and evenly spread this week. In France most resorts are expecting around 5cm before the weekend, with Les Deux Alpes boasting slightly more at 7cm. The resorts are in great condition at the moment, though the glaciers are boasting the best snow.

Italy, Austria and Switzerland are expecting a slightly lighter 2cm across most resorts, from Sauze d'Oulx to Saas Fee. Thanks to decent snowfall in recent weeks the slopes should still be in good shape and the extra couple of centimetres will help with the 9am corduroy pistes.

The blue skies after some consistent snowfall should make for some great end of season skiing between now and the end of Easter, it's a great time for fair weather types to get their fix.
