Sting's son to play at Musique en Stock festival

Sting's son to play at Musique en Stock festival Joe Sumner - the son of rock legend Sting - and his band Fiction Plane are to play at this year's Musique en Stock festival in Cluses, it has been announced.

Fiction Plane recorded their first demo, Swings and Roundabouts, in 2001 under the name Santa's Boyfriend and have supported Sting and The Police on various tours.

Currently, the band is writing and recording a new studio album scheduled for release later this year.

The news may of interest to music fans planning a ski holiday in Chamonix.

Now in its ninth year, 2009's event takes place between July 1st and 4th.

In the past, bands such as the Dandy Warhols and Dub Incorporation have been on the bill.

Other bands also taking part in the festival include French pop group Herman Dune, indie star Stuck in the Sound, rockabilly purveyors Lord Fester Combo and London-based reggae band Headknocker.
