Testing has begun on a new cable line between the French peaks of Les Arcs and La Plagne in the Paradiski area.

According to reports, earlier this month one cabin successfully completed the journey using new cables, with a second cabin expected to undergo testing later this month.

The final phase of testing will begin on September 30th, when each cable car will be filled with 16 tonnes of water, which is the approximate weight of 200 passengers.

Paradiski is set to reopen for the winter ski on December 2008.

One of the world's largest linked ski domains, Paradiski an ideal destination for winter sports enthusiasts and has something for everyone.

The area comprises three ski resorts, 425 kilometres of runs, a bobsleigh run, ice climbing area and speed skiing run, along with three summits above 3,000 metres.
