Going away this weekend or planning a last minute January ski trip? Well if so it's looking pretty good wherever you fancy skiing. The last few weeks have seen metres and metres of snow from Whistler and Colorado, to Europe's Alpine resorts and Spain's Formigal.
This weekend Switzerland is boasting the best fresh snow to go with their perfectly groomed pistes. Saas Fee is forecast 30cm of powder along with Zermatt and the likes of Verbier and Crans Montana can expect a good 20cm snow shower.
The neighbouring Italian resorts are also benefitting from great snow with Cervinia (Zermatt's lesser know sister) and Gressoney forecast a decent 25cm top up. Passo Tonale and Livigno can also expect a light dusting over the weekend.
Colorado is expecting to benefit from a top up over the weekend so if Aspen, Beaver Creek or Crested Butte are on your radar you can look forward to perfect conditions on the slopes. In Whistler it is snowing again, honestly it's beginning to bore me telling you how good the conditions are in one of the world's most popular resorts.
Last but not least are our favourite neighbours, the French. Not only do they make better wine and cheese than us they also know how to cope with a little bit of snow, which will be useful this weekend with Chamonix, Alpe d'Huez (again) and Avoriaz all looking at an impending 10cm+ of our favourite white stuff.
Only 50 days until my next trip to the Alps, not that I'm counting.
