Over Christmas we have had a bumper week of snow with Whistler receiving 2m of powder and plenty more around the 1m mark. To follow on from this bumper week it looks like those on New Year ski holidays will be benefitting from the massive recent snowfall and another top-up this week.
Alaska's snow sure resort of Alyeska is boating the largest snowfall with 86cm due this week and Colorado's resorts of Aspen, Steamboat and Telluride are all due around 30cm of fresh snow this week. Lake Tahoe is also looking pretty good as Heavenly and Squaw Valley have both enjoyed huge snowfall last week and another 30cm this week will be welcomed. Awesome, California powder over New Year, wish I was there!
After over 4 metres of snow in four weeks it appears to have eased up in Whistler though Kicking Horse, Fernie and Kimberley are all due a light dusting this week.

Anyone heading out to Bulgaria will be glad to know that a welcome top-up of 15cm is due in both Borovets and Bansko this weekend, topping the European snow fall for the next few days. Austria is expecting a festive sprinkling throughout their major resorts from St. Johann to Kitzbuhel.
France and Switzerland are both having a quiet week after an incredible start to the season with Flims Laax, Alpe d'Huez and Chamonix all experiencing a light dusting to keep that festive feel in resort for a few more days.
Christmas was a cracker and New Year looks like a week of great snow and bluebird skies. I know where I'd rather be right now.
