What’s new in Les Arcs for winter 2017

Winter 2017 is a milestone season for Les Arcs with lots of exciting news for the fast approaching season. Not only will the first 5 star hotel open there are new ski touring trails, the biggest igloo village and much more!

Les Arcs will open for the ski season on 10th December with the Vanoise Express opening for access to the entire Paradiski area on 17th December.

New hotel


Hotel Taj-I Mah is the first 5 star hotel in Les Arcs located at the top of Arc 2000 at Le Cabriolet gondola. The hotel boasts a ski in –ski out location, 2 spectacular restaurants ran by Michelin chefs, a large wellness area and big south facing terrace. The hotel opens from 16th December.

New Igloo Village


The largest igloo village in France is being created this winter in Les Arcs! The 400m2 space offers ice caves, an igloo bar, overnight stays in Igloos, a restaurant area and a dance floor!

New chalets in Arc 1950


Chalet Merle and Chalet Chouette are similar spacious chalets located in the picturesque village of Arc 1950. If you are looking for a touch of luxury this ski season then look no further! These gorgeous chalets are located in the 5 star Sources de Marie residences in the heart of Arcs 1950, where you are just a few minutes from over 40 shops, bars and restaurants.

New ski touring trails


As ski touring becomes increasingly popular, several new trails are being created to cater for enthusiasts of the sport visiting Les Arcs.

  • 2 new trails have been created adding to the already-existing La Trace route in Arc 1600.
  • A new 440m vertical ascent will be in Arc 1800 from the top of the Villards telecabine.
  • A new 650m vertical ascent in Peisey Vallandry from the Parchet chairlift.

New ice rink


A new ice rink will be located in Les Arcs 2000 for all guests in Les Arcs to enjoy.

Mille 8 Alpine Playground

Launched at the end of winter 2016, the Mille 8 leisure centre is a large, family friendly area filled with fun activities, ski areas and an aquatic centre. Skiers and snowboarders of all ages can enjoy the freestyle and boardercross run, the toboggan track, walking trails and more.

New app features


The Paradiski YUGE app already offers a huge amount of information available at your fingertips. For winter 2016/17 the app will feature:

  • Ski pass recharging
  • Interactive resort and shuttle maps
  • 60 wifi hot spots in resort

Future plans for Les Arcs


For winter 2017/18

  • Replacement and extention of the Pre-St Espirit chairlift
  • Expansion of the snow cannon network in the lower part of the Arc 2000 ski area


For winter 2018/09

  • Replacement of the Comborciere chairlift linking Arc 2000 to Arc 1600
  • New Club Med Les Arc 1750
