New ski lifts to create largest ski area in Austria


The biggest news for winter 2017 is that a new cable car system will link all ski resorts in the Arlberg creating Austria’s largest interconnected ski area.

3 new cable cars will connect Zurs to Stuben making travel between both sides of the Arlberg faster and easier. The ski area will include a total of 305 km of pistes and 87 lifts, as well as an extra 200 km of backcountry terrain.

From St Anton, skiers and snowboarders will be able to access St Christoph, Stuben, Zurs, Lech, Schrocken and Warth. The lift will open from December 2016. Read more.

Run of Fame


As the new cable cars allow fluid transportation between the ski resorts, a new route named the ‘Run of Fame’ has been created to test even the most proficient skiers. Visitors can attempt to ski the 65 km route in one day. Access to the circuit is possible and different sections and there will be special signage to point skiers and snowboarders in the correct direction.

We are delighted to have 7 new properties in St Anton for our winter 2016/17 programme. The Amelia chalets are located within the same complex so are perfect for larger groups that can be spread across the 3 chalets.

New kids lift pass


Children born from 2009 only pay 10 Euros for the ‘Snowman Card’ season lift pass which gives them access to all the slopes in St Anton, all season.

Events


Festive fun
The festivities begin in St Anton 4 weekends before Christmas Eve. There will be a varity of advent themed areas and events throughout December including a Christmas Adventure Trail, Christmas card workshop, Advent Magic at the Museum, a Christmas market and more!

Test the latest skis at opening weekend

Visitors in St Anton on 2nd – 4th December can try out the latest ski models from a range of manufactures free of charge. There will also be a special music event on the Saturday night to celebrate opening weekend.

Ski show and fireworks every Wednesday
Every Wednesday evening throughout the season (from January 4th onwards) visitors in St Anton can watch a spectacular show of projected imagery, fireworks and skiing. Admission is free and takes place on the slope in front of the Karl Schranz Stadium. The show is hosted by the St Anton tourist board.

New Orleans meets snow festival
From 7th – 9th April there will be live concerts in the village and the slopes celebrating soul, blues, fun and jazz music. This will be the 4th year that the ‘New Orleans meets Snow’ festival has taken place in St Anton. Highlights of this year’s line-up include Blues Night on the Saturday with the Markus Linder Blues Band.
