Amazing week skiing, can't wait to go back. 11/04/2013
Sunshine, good snow, a variety of ski runs, comfortable beds and yummy food. We just spent a great week in Alpe d'huez. Our chalet host was amazing, he kept us all happy, comfortable and well fed. One guest professed her love for him each evening when pudding was served. Three families of 4 people and one couple got on very well and spent enjoyable evenings around the dinner table. Between the good skiing, sunshine, the nice company and amazing host, it will be hard to beat such a great week. Sign us up for next year!

A good place for a white week 31/12/2012
We liked Alpe d' Huez very much (Xmas 2012). Not a big resort but plenty to keep you going for a week. Nice friendly place. Quite a lot of button lifts and the seats on the gondola are dreadful, but don't let that put you off. Good place for beginners with lots of green runs, but also plenty of blues, reds and blacks. Lovely views. Just one thing - don't go to La Cabane restaurant on the piste above Bergers. We waited 90 minutes to be served food that was cold and in two out of six cases not what we had ordered. Valuable ski-ing time lost.

Ski trip march 19- 26 2011 12/05/2011
We come from the Netherlands and stayed for a week at the Hotel Beau Soleil. We were there with a group of eight adults. Age between 22 - 56. For me and my husband it was the first ski holiday ever. It is a nice hotel, nice rooms, good breakfast, good dinner (a lot of pork meat). It is a hotel that has its focus on school trips. There mission is making ski trips affordable so they continue to exist. The children make a lot of noise. They go to bed early so you can have a quiet evening and a nice sleep. The weather was very hot for the time of the year, so the snow wasn't as good as it supposed to be. In the morning there was a lot of ice and in the afternoon the snow was slushy. For us snowboarding beginners the slushy snow wasn't a problem. The area of Alpe d'Huez is very nice. There is a piste for everyone and it’s wide spread. There is a nice kids area and a lot of good places to eat. The hotel Beau Soleil services for lunch a daily fresh soup that tastes very good. The downside of having lunch at Beau Soleil is that they only service lunch until 2 o'clock. There are some good shopping areas, especially the supermarket Sherpa. They sell biological products and the owners are very nice and helpful. Because we went by car it was easy for us to drive to Les deux Alpes. It is only a one hour drive. The snow there was a little bit better. We didn't do après skiing.

Alpe d'Huez was a great choice of resort - if there had been more snow there would have been a good choice of beginners runs and up higher there is sufficient to keep more expert skiers happy. Plenty to do in the afternoons too if you are not skiing - ice skating, golf, overhaead assault course, louge, swimming... great fun. Had an ESF instructor who was great - and from other feedback ESF seem to be universally good in A d'H. We'll definately go back there next year...

Iglu booking staff helpful and process convenitent.
