Very Good Hotel - be prepared to spend time getting to/from the slopes - 09/03/2015
Overall

The hotel is a very good family run establishment in a quieter part of the resort. Be sure to specify to stay in the main hotel building rather than the annex where the rooms are more compact. The main problem with the resort, rather than specifically the hotel, is the time taken from putting boots on in the hotel ski room to the first ski run - with the bus transfer to the Penken lift and the queuing time at the lift plus the lift time, you can waste an hour at the start of the day and another 30-40 mins plus at the end. The last lift down of the Penken is at 16.30. so to avoid more queues at the end of the day, you tend to return early. This means you get a later start and an earlier finish. Compare this to a ski-in/ski-out resort where you can get an extra 2 hours skiing per day. There is a new Penken lift due to be open for the 2015/16 season - this will reduce transfer times, but it remains to be seen by how much. So with that in mind, Mayrhofen is a very good resort with plenty of apres ski for all tastes and the hotel is very comfortable with attentive staff.

We had a wonderful week at the Hotel Kramerwirt, the food and accommodation were fantastic, very convenient for the skiing and the local town. Would love to visit in the summer to see the different side of the place. Highly Highly recommended.

Worth every penny - 15/02/2011
Overall

Just returned from a week at the Hotel Kramerwirt (12th Feb 2011). Probably the best skiing hotel we have stayed at. We stayed in the main building - the room was first class - spacious, clean and well presented. Food at the hotel was excellent, with a wide choice every night. The staff were friendly and seemed to do their utmost to make us feel welcome. We would definitely come back. Skiing was good, with sunny weather every day, but because of this the best snow was to be had from early until about 1pm. The Penken gondola gets very busy, with waits of up to 40 minutes if you leave too late - if you get there before 8.40 when the buses arrive you can walk straight on. Not really a resort for beginners or families with children, but loads of skiing for intermediates.
