Ardent is a delightful little village which is situated in a valley near the lively town of Morzine and the purpose-built ski village of Avoriaz in the Portes du Soleil ski area. Ardent is ideal for family ski holidays with child-care and ski school surrounded by dynamic cliffs and picturesque waterfalls.The Portes du Soleil links 12 resorts in France and Switzerland, has 650km of marked pistes over very diverse terrain, 204 lifts, and 250km of cross country skiing. It allows for skiing of all standards and abilities. Ski tuition and guiding can be easily organised.

Skiing in Ardent
The resort is perfect for families with lots of gentle runs in the area ideal for beginners and those looking to grow their confidence and has a wide choice of larger resorts nearby for intermediate and advanced skiers as part of the vast Portes du Soleil area. It is not only the hub of the ski in ski out resort of Avoriaz but has a number of unspoiled traditional villages like Ardent. To access Morzine and Les Gets in the ski area, it is just an easy ski and gondola ride down on the Super Morzine which takes you into the heart of Morzine.
Ardent is in a great location to easily access the rest of the Portes du Soleil. Take its modern gondola up to Les Lindarets where you can access great runs in France and over the border in Switzerland. Les Lindarets is situated at the top of Ardent’s telecabine and from here, you can take a chairlift or express directly to Avoriaz, the highest resort in the area. Also at the top of the Ardent telecabine is where you can access the resorts of Champery, Les Crosets, Morgins, Torgon and Champoussin. There are a number of beautiful tree lined pistes great for intermediates and beginners.
Snowboarders are drawn towards Avoriaz where there is an excellent fun-park and half-pipe. Ardent has remained a charming resort, and offers a unique holiday experience that would be hard to find in a more commercial resort. Although the village is small, it has everything you need for a great family ski holiday.
Snow conditions in Ardent
Ardent has reliable snow conditions for its altitude, adjacent to Lake Geneva. Skiing back to resort in the late season has not been an issue for the past ten years.
Après ski, restaurants and other activities in Ardent
There are a number of well priced restaurants in resort but as it is a small and quiet resort situated on a single street, après ski and other activities are limited. We recommend going into Morzine or Avoriaz if you are looking to après ski. But there is plenty of space for sledging and building snowmen with the family.
