Pleasant surprise. The overall weeks holiday was 10 out of 10 value for money. We stayed at the Kempinski and was impressed with the hotel, the ski facility's etc etc.... We had our doubts about Bulgaria from reports from other people, some justified ie. food 3 out of 10, but edible... hotel food was 7 out of 10 and expensive, but worth the extra..

Having snowboarded for over 10 years and done America, Canada and a lot of Europe I didn't know what to expect of this, but was pleasantly surprised by it all, the mountain isn't as big as most ( probably the size of Pas de la Casa, Andorra). But is makes it makes up for it in beauty, no barren French slopes here, everything is surrounded by tress, all the lifts are brand new and efficient, the only queues were at the bottom of the gondola in the morning. Borders don't be put off by the road down to the resort, it’s not flat once you get going and a good finish to the day. The food on the mountain was mixed but after looking around found some top places and some great kebabs all very cheap, only slightly more expensive than in the town, but when you can buy 40 fags and a pint for £1.72 I', sure you can stand the extra. Night life isn't rocking yet, a few good bars and the odd disco. When you are out on the town try not to take out 50 Levre notes with you unless you are running up a tab as you will struggle to change them.
