Review 24/09/2008
One could be quite critical of this chalet for lacking the facilities of more modern accommodation. Yes, you have to share facilities, yes, it lacks a really comfortable lounge area (although there is small lounge at the top of the stairs as well as the dining area) and it is a bit of a trek up the hill from the main ski lift (but not too far).

However, what it lacks in sophistication and facilities is more than made up for by the history and charm of the chalet. You really could be turning the clock back 100 years. Stuffed animal heads and hunting memorabilia adorn the walls, and the feeling of history is all around you. At the price you pay you just can't complain. I loved it and would go back tomorrow!

We loved it! 03/04/2012
We loved Chalet Arlhof. It must be the prettiest chalet in St Anton perched just above the town so you can always see where you're aiming for! Its just a short walk up a fairly steep hill but not bad at all. The upsides were the traditional features, relaxed atmosphere / interior, quirkiness and history. There were downsides - you could say shabby if you were being really critical, comfortable or homely might be a fairer description, the central heating pipes did make quite a bit of noise around 06:15 and yes we had to share a bathroom but it really didn't matter at all - we never even knew who we were sharing it with. It was cosy, quaint, intimate, charming. I would definitely go back - in fact I wouldn't really want to stay anywhere else in St Anton and it was great value for money.

Once you got the bus routes sorted you can go anywhere in the ski area we enjoyed Sonnenkopf the best.
