Review of March Holiday - 12/04/2011
Overall

This was a very successful holiday. The skiing was excellent though the weather was hot and sunny and the resort runs were very shushy at the end of the day. Chalet Christian was conveniently placed in the centre of the village and convenient to the 'yogurt pot' lift to the ski slopes. The accomodation was comfortable and clean. We were well looked after by the chalet staff and the food was good and plentiful. The complementary wines offered were very palatable. My wife and myself are very fit senior citizens and members of the Ski Club of Great Britain. We went to Alpe d'Huez again (5th visit)because it has extensive and challenging skiing. We were not disappointed. We skied all week with the Ski Club and covered all the challenging black runs and mogul fields - including 'The Tunnel'. We like to travel Sunday to Sunday as it is usually much less congested than on Saturdays. Also, I play hockey on Saturday and I miss only one game! The only quibbles were having to drive to Gatwick as no flights were available from the Midlands (where we live) and the congestion at Chambrey airport - an unpleasant experience. I won't drive to Gatwick again - the journey is tedious and its not a nice airport.
