Budget base in the Trois Vallees 14/04/2014
The best thing about Chalet Delta is its location, just three minutes walk from the Folyeres piste - so you can ski down to the main gondola in the morning and ski back home in the evening. The rooms are small but well arranged and we had a sunny balcony on the first floor. You wouldn't want to be on the ground floor with no balcony/view and cold tiled floors. Luckily, we were 13 in a chalet that holds 20, as the boot room is only a porch, with nowhere to sit, so in cold or snowy weather not great. The kitchen/dining room and the living room are more spacious, but 20 people would definitely be a squeeze. However, this chalet is strictly budget: no soap, no hairdryers, no fruit/yoghurt at breakfast, no wi-fi, and no rep in sight the week we stayed. We didn't mind as we have skied before and know this area. There's not much going on in La Tania but a great pub, the Ski Lodge, with live bands and a couple of good restaurants will keep you going for a week. And the skiing is amazing.

Better than pic looks. Stayed 2 adults and 2 kids (in the bunk beds)-bit small but fine. Slight problem with the wine 1st night turning out to be mulled wine (not nice when cold!). Love the Kangaroo burgers at the ski Lodge (good happy hour before 6pm - the odd free snaps), La Tiaga (down on the road) great food for the Tue's chalet girl's day off and Fri band night. No wifi at Delta but can get Hotel Telemark's (code at the bar- cheap beers here) signal just outside Delta. Best restaurant just down from top of La Jardin lift above Cour1850 is Courchneige - try and book day before to sit out on a sunny day - Niki head waitress is worth the trip.. bottle of Ventoux very nice. Bel Air lovely views with mulled wine. Over in Meribel above Le Rond Point is Coeur de Cristal - top place for lunch (slightly pricey but great when sunny)- kids will love the forest run over there. The Grand Couloir run to the right of the cable car top is a good heart beater (hardest part the dodgy narrow crest at the top). The 4th valley run (go straight then left off piste, you'll see some tracks) when you get off the top of Pyramide button is true wilderness - eventually comes out at 1650 after a few bits of walking along the path- my 10 year old son managed it all (had to go down on his bum on one part - bit steep). Easiest way to piste from chalet, turn left and then right for path down. Only down side chalet girls bit fussy over taking the wine away after 9pm. Chalet has a DVD player.

Great snow 18/04/2013
We arrived on 6th April to mountains of snow and it snowed nearly every day. No lift queues at all so we must have skied at least an hour extra each day - fantastic. Lovely pretty little resort set among the trees - sooooooo easy to get to all of the other resorts in the 3 valleys. Chalet served excellent cakes every afternoon and the food in the evening was really tasty and plenty even for my older teenage boys. Lashings of hot water for showers. Fred, our chalet guy, very helpful and pleasant. We booked late and got a fabulous deal.

Skiing tremendous - chalet ordinaire! 10/04/2013
First time in 3 valleys and what an amazing week! Probably had approaching a metre of fresh snow in mid March to compliment the enormous and extremely enjoyable terrain. Something for everyone and , if you like off piste plenty of safe areas to avoid congestion on the pistes. La Tania relatively quiet but good access into Courcheval or Meribel. Ideal location away from hubbub. Still had an enjoyable nightlife with a few bars and restaurants. Chalet Delta very perfunctionary but to compensate close to slope and bubble. Was diappointing as regards hospitality as hosts were obviously very limited on what they could offer meal wise. As regards wine, really poor! Very much get in and out as quick as they could which encouraged a rush meal time with not even any seconds (some food was thrown away instead!) Rooms quite small and very little storage areas. Why was a writing bureau in the room? Bathroom tiny but at least full headroom unlike last year's chalet in La Plagne! Double rooms more generous in size but first come first served as always. I wish it wasn't so arbitrary on the room allocation. Boot room was the front porch which was a joke as pokey and not heated. End of the day depends on why you go - the skiing or the accomodation? I know which one I would chose!

Delta force 28/03/2013
We loved this well situated chalet with really convenient access to the Folyeres piste in La Tania, only half an hour into Meribel, a great black slope back at the end of the day then on to the delightful Folyeres blue to get you home. Really liked the excellent access to the whole of the 3 valleys. Good chalet with reasonably sized warm bedrooms and a nice sociable area upstairs. Minor point, it could do with a bigger boot room otherwise I would recommend it, 20 people is a good size to make friends with a range of guests, the week we were there was awesome.
