This chalet has small pleasant rooms with comfortable beds and plenty of hot water. We had a great view of the pistes. It is in a good position and less than five minutes walk to the lifts. The staff were great and the food amazing. We ate far too much!

For cheap thrills, nothing beats the Lessieres lift — who needs a rollercoaster!

For a glittering cocktail, head to the Grand Marnier establishment for a drink in a container that lights up when shaken — though not stirred!

For surreal views, get out for first lift and as you ascend gaze at the snow capped peaks against a bleu (NB this is not a typo) blue background (Yves Saint Laurent would be proud of it!)

For detox, get up early and breathe the fresh mountain air - it feels pure

What is left at the end of the season? Crystal-clear melted snow-water and a glacier that glistens and beckons all season round.

How to round off an afternoon of top-notch skiing? Head to the 'Grizzly Bear' for a surreal 'Heidi on speed' experience. You'll have to go there yourself to check out the hand-carving skills.

The chalet hotel was in a superb location, just a couple of minutes walk from the major bubble to access pretty much the whole resort from there. The rooms were very basic, a little more basic than we were expecting, especially for the price paid. But the food and location more than made up for that. The food and wine selection was outstanding - although the portions looked small, they were packed with protein every night and I dont think there was a meal that I actually completed fully, there was just so much. Great selection of accompanying vegetables as well for those health conscious. The only real downside of the hotel is the size of the boot room - it is way too small for the number of people who need to use it. And there is no space to put on your boots either. Again, a minor negative, but one that can make a frustrating difference. The chalet staff were all absolutely superb, cannot speak highly enough of them. Thanks for a great stay.
