Good - But 05/01/2015
Travel ! Ugh ! We went out over New Year and were caught up in the travel debacle ! Both ways. We were 'lucky' in the we only spent 12 hours on a bus for a 2 1/2 hour transfer. Geneva to Meribel. Many spent the night out, some two ! We got to resort at midnight mostly thanks to a brilliant coach driver that took us off through the lanes and villages to by pass the mega jam on the main roads. Airports such as Geneva and Chambray are just not fit for purpose. Totally overwhelmed with ridiculous queues. We will not be flying out next time ! There are other ways. Up side we got the snow just in time for New Year so Meribel was white and skiing pretty good but icy towards the end. Hotel Grangette is ideal for ski slope access and après ski with views over the area and an easy walk. Almost ski to door ! With all the benefits of being 'in town' so close to all facilities. Hotel staff were great. Very helpful, knowledgeable, pleasant, happy and efficient. Food and service good. The building needs attention though. Our bath room had mould on the ceiling and fan did not work. In excusable at this point in the season ! Boot / ski room very tired and shabby and locks worn out. Again inexcusable at this time of the season. Should have been sorted out. Spoilt an otherwise good stay.

Easter Skiing 18/04/2011
Just back from a fantastic weeks skiing in Meribel. We stayed in Les Grangettes and were well looked after. A solid breakfast with a cooked option, (which was a little poor), soup, tea and cakes at 4.30pm and a lovely 3 course meal in the evening with a cheese board if desired. The food on the whole was very good. The free wine, although not the best quality was welcome with dinner.

I was there with my mate (both in our 30's) and although most of the residents were families we enjoyed ourselves both on and off the slopes.

Due to the time of year there was no snow in the village but there was plenty on top of the mountain. We bought a 3 Valleys pass and rarely skied the same slope twice. The early mornings were a little icy at times and afternoons were slushy on the way down but there was still lots of great skiing to be had, especially in and on the way to and from Val Thoren.

Although the evenings were quieter than I would have liked I would definitely return to this hotel and resort at Easter.

Les Grangettes 09/04/2011
I have just come back from an excellent holiday in Les Grangettes Meribel. Booking the holiday with iglu was very quick and simple. The accommodation couldn't have been in a better location, 2 mins walk to the ski lift and very good location in town. The accommodation itself was very basic in the rooms however you spend such little time in the rooms it doesn't matter. The food was amazing! Breakfast had an excellent buffet selection and a hot option. Get back at 4pm after a hard days skiing and you can have soup and cake and then at 7pm you have canopies followed by a 3 course meal with unlimited wine. We were sceptical of the free wine but it was great and it was definitely unlimited!! Coming in bottles not out of plastic containers! The evening meal was brilliant from duck to legs of lamb it was all excellent. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and better than most waiters you would find in restaurants. Overall an excellent stay and would definitely book again.
