Chalet Mira Belum - 08/11/2011
Overall

Rumoured has it that Chalet Mira Belum is owned by a European royal and it’s certainly fit for a king or queen. In fact, it’s by far the best of all the chalets I’ve booked in the 15 years I’ve been using Igluski.com. All too rarely do you find the perfect chalet in your ideal resort but this one oozes traditional style and comfort. All six double bedrooms have private facilities and the communal area layout is perfect with its best feature the spacious, slightly sunken living room which is ideal for pre-dinner drinks. Yes, I admit the Mira Belum is a healthy walk up a steep hill. But don't be deterred, please. It’s worth it. Meribel,of course, is a brilliant ski area in its own right but is also perfectly located if you fancy a taste of plush Courchevel or the seriously high runs of Val Thorens Lunch tip: If you go to Courchevel for a day and want lunch somewhere that won't break the bank head for the restaurant in the shadow of the Les Verdons cable car.

Mira Belum, Jan 2012 - 16/01/2012
Overall

Visited Mira Belum last week, were incredibly lucky to have tonnes of new snow on arrival, and beautiful sunshine for the week. The chalet is gorgeous and was suited perfectly to our group. The only down-side of the chalet was the location. To get to the slopes you need to get the bus, which is a precarious 5 min walk down an icy road, and then 5 mins on the bus. To walk (in ski boots) it would take minimum 20 mins (we are a young and fit group and it wasn't an option). Chalet staff were excellent and treated us very well. Chalet rep was fairly useless and failed in most of the tasks we gave her. (Booked French instructor for English speaking group, failed to book husky tour etc)

Apres Ski: 4/5
