It was a great location for a chalet, being very close to one of the main lifts yet just a short walk into the main part of town. As I understand it, we were in the biggest bedroom in the chalet, en suite & with a balcony - no complaints there! Just a real shame there wasn't a bigger communal lounge area for socialising after dinner. We hung around in the dining room instead, but it wasn't very comfortable.

The chalet hosts were generally friendly & helpful - one in particular provided fantastic customer service. Food was ok - I've stayed in chalets when it has been a lot better, but at least there was variety. The sun shone every day, there was enough variety in the ski area so we got to ski some great slopes (even though it was a little hot so the snow got slushy towards the end of each day) & apres ski was good fun. Just a shame the total holiday price was more expensive than I've previously paid for other ski holidays - particularly with the poor euro exchange rate, I can probably only afford 1 ski holiday every 2 years if I return here. I also found it surprising that out of 25 people in the chalet, 21 were men!! 2 of the 4 women were with their husbands, so for the remaining 2 of us, we did feel slightly outnumbered!! All in all though, a great holiday.

Late booking - all hassle free.

Phone message left, informing me of flight time change - not so clever because it was lucky I saw the message. Text or email would be safer.

Simple check in - asked for extra leg room and got it.

Friedrichshafen - great little airport. Brass band welcome, or was it for the local celeb?

Great coach transfer - but where was the snow?

Good, clear info pack handed out.

Enthusiastic welcome on arrival.

Been to Chalet Murr before, so pleasantly surprised to see complete refurb, which included easily moveable beds on a simple sliding system and clean layout.

Canapes and exotic drinks pre dinner every evening.

Food to good standard.

Wine more than acceptable.

Very good, welcoming staff.

Slightly cramped lounge area.

Good TV choice in lounge, but hopeless in bedroom.

And luckily the snow arrived mid-week! Despite Summer conditions, we had a very good week skiing, with good advice from staff.

Early return departure softened by great bacon sandwich in addition to usual breakfast.

Simple transfer, even simpler check in, extra leg room again.

All in all: a great chalet, great staff, good food and wine, great skiing and a good bunch of fellow guests.

To be recommended - just sort the bedroom TV out.

Chalet Murr is Brilliant!! 08/03/2011
Just got back from a great week in St Anton and stayed at Chalet Murr. It was brilliant and couldn’t fault it at all. Great location, great food, clean, warm, welcoming and only 5 mins from Nasserein and 10 mins from town - perfect!! Highly recommend a stay here if you are looking for great accommodation in an easy convenient location!!

Chalet Murr 03/03/2011
We stayed in this chalet Feb 2011. It's in a fantastic location, just a short walk to the Nasserein lift. The rooms very spacious, we had a three bed room and there was plenty of space for us all. Very clean and the staff were very helpful and worked very hard to please us all. The chalet had a large percentage of male cleints but this did not stop myself, boyfriend and 15 yr old son having a good time. The food was good and there was plenty of it. There was readily available tea coffee, fruit juices and water througout the day, cake everyday and the wine flowed freely and was good. The seating area was a bit small, but very cosy, and there was never a time when we couldn't get a seat. Plenty of hot water and good showers.

All in all a very good chalet far better than the Traudl where we had stayed the year before. St Anton is a great resort and the skiing is fab.

Highly recommend this chalet and its very helpful and friendly staff.

Looking to stay in a central location in St Anton? Then Chalet Murr is a great place to stay. Only a short walk to the Nasserein lift which has the nursery slopes. You are also a short walk to St Anton’s town with a great choice of restaurants & bars to choose from. If you looking for the party crowd you can find the Moosewirt on the blue run (No 1 on the piste map) this is the place to head too. If you want to make full use of your Arlberg ski pass you can ski over to Run 17 & take the bus from Alpe Rauz which means the bus trip to Zurs is under 10 mins. The buses run every 20 mins & are free with the lift pass but only the blue ones, the yellow local buses do charge. There is plenty of off piste in St Anton try the top of Valluga 1 Cable car or the Riffelscharte lift in Rendl, or the Kapall lift. If you are looking for a mountain with great views & great food try the Balmalp at the top of Zug. Or, if you are looking to get your ski legs back, try Run 14 which is a red into Run 17, a blue. This is a great way to start the day. There is also ski touring available in the Arlberg ski area. Lech, Stuben Oberlech all offer a great choice of skiing. For alternative activities then St Anton gives a great choice (www.arlberg-well.com) offers swimming sauna Jacuzzi & massages. Or if you a climber one of the largest climbing walls can be found at (www.arlrock.at) Fancy a less stressful pursuit? Try ten pin bowling. If you have any energy left after skiing you could give the 4.3km floodlight toboggan run from Gampen to Nasserein a go!

"Just home from Christmas in Val d'Isere... this was the best ski holiday I have ever been on. Val is stunning, the hotel fabulous, staff sensational and skiing out of this world. We booked through Iglu. They were fantastic. Peter had great ski knowledge, offered advice and went the extra mile. " - Pamela (Dec 2015)
