Review 22/04/2010
Looking to stay in a central location in St Anton? Then Chalet Murr is a great place to stay. Only a short walk to the Nasserein lift which has the nursery slopes. You are also a short walk to St Anton’s town with a great choice of restaurants & bars to choose from. If you looking for the party crowd you can find the Moosewirt on the blue run (No 1 on the piste map) this is the place to head too. If you want to make full use of your Arlberg ski pass you can ski over to Run 17 & take the bus from Alpe Rauz which means the bus trip to Zurs is under 10 mins. The buses run every 20 mins & are free with the lift pass but only the blue ones, the yellow local buses do charge. There is plenty of off piste in St Anton try the top of Valluga 1 Cable car or the Riffelscharte lift in Rendl, or the Kapall lift. If you are looking for a mountain with great views & great food try the Balmalp at the top of Zug. Or, if you are looking to get your ski legs back, try Run 14 which is a red into Run 17, a blue. This is a great way to start the day. There is also ski touring available in the Arlberg ski area. Lech, Stuben Oberlech all offer a great choice of skiing. For alternative activities then St Anton gives a great choice (www.arlberg-well.com) offers swimming sauna Jacuzzi & massages. Or if you a climber one of the largest climbing walls can be found at (www.arlrock.at) Fancy a less stressful pursuit? Try ten pin bowling. If you have any energy left after skiing you could give the 4.3km floodlight toboggan run from Gampen to Nasserein a go!

Chalet Murr 16/02/2014 06/03/2014
Just came back from our stay at Chalet Murr. It was very disappointing. The tv's in the room do not work. The lounge is too small for all the guests to sit in. The kids (under 12yrs) have to eat at 5:30pm whilst the adults eat at 8:00pm. The standard of cleanliness is not good in my opinion as a pile of dust was under our beds on departure after a weeks stay. It is more like a 2 star accommodation with a 2 stars for customer service. However the resort is really good for skiing with a great ski school.

Great Staff 11/02/2015
The staff at Chalet Murr were all fantastic! The property could do with a bit of modernising, but a decent standard. Good location and just a short walk from the ski lifts and main town centre.

Great Location and Comfortable Chalet 17/02/2015
The Chalet itself is in good condition and decorated very traditionally. We had a superior room with balcony (No1) which was very spacious and a good en-suite with a powerful shower. The Austrian twin, which is basically 2 single beds pushed together wasn't particularly comfortable for us as a couple, but you expect that in ski resorts. The single duvets were a bit on the small side for my 6'2" partner! Not too much of a concern as we did make the most of the après bars and certainly slept well! The Chalet was full during our stay and the lounge area was too small to cope with all the guests being there at the same time. To be honest, we all got on really well so ended up pulling in seats from the dining room! Might not be too comfy/relaxing for lots of families. The equipment room isn't heated which made it a bit difficult when we needed to re-wax our boards as they hadn't defrosted. We did end up having to take them up to our rooms and leave them in the shower for a while which was fine. The boot room was OK but the hangers are not heated so they didn't get a chance to dry out. Again - we ended up taking them up to our room and putting them by the radiator. Fine for us, but a bit of a pain if you have kids to look after as well. St Anton is a great resort and certainly one for some awesome après bars and Chalet Murr is right in the heart of it. It's only a 5 min walk to the Nasserein gondola and the cruisy blue 23 will get you to the Rendl gondola - don't wait for the bus as they are infrequent and always full! We have to say that the quality of food wasn't great. One night we had duck with dauphinoise potatoes...the duck was really overcooked and tough and the potatoes were just sliced and sitting in a bath of cream - really not good! We were told that we had a new chef - but that's not an acceptable reason for poor food. It did improve towards the end of the week but only for the last meal. Hopefully the new chef will have mastered the meals for the next guests! If you're in a group, I would wholeheartedly recommend this chalet but I wouldn't come back and bring my kids (we were on an adults only holiday) as I don't think the communal areas are big enough to be relaxing.

Skiing to 80's Music 08/02/2016
Our group (7) have just returned from an excellent week in Chalet Murr. The chef Ben provided excellently prepared, varied, appropriate meals at both breakfast and evening meal. He was ably assisted by Louise, Amy & Jack who carried out their duties with smiles on their faces and minimum fuss. The check-in procedure was swift & smooth and rooms were more than adequate for our needs. A minor problem with a power cut was handled without too much inconvenience and the location of the chalet is fine to minimise the night time revelry but probably a little far if carrying skis & boots. All down to choice but the resort has adequate ski hire & storage places. Another party in our chalet were delayed but the chalet staff continued with their duties and provided a hot meal at 2-30 am yet managed to have everything running smoothly at breakfast next morning St Anton has a much publicised plethora of positive reviews and need no further comment. I would recommend this chalet without hesitation but as a word of warning don't forget your key & proceed to ring the wrong door bell....or be prepared for a sumo type assault!
