Club Med - Les Arcs Extreme - 07/03/2019
Overall

Highly recommended - food, entertainment and skiing - all excellent. Ski school, which is included, was great. Highly impressed with the organisation and efficiency of the whole operation and the staff could not be more helpful. The only downsides - the rooms are quite small (but aren't all rooms in the French Alps?) and the initial ski-in/ski-out is a bit of a chore, but manageable.

A great experience! - 22/02/2018
Overall

Came back from a week here over Feb half term. The Club Med system was great and just what I expected. Drinks, food and music at lunch and when you came back from lessons on an afternoon, along with shows and performances on a night time. It wasn't too in your face and most nights we had drinks in the spacious reception/lounge area without feeling like we were missing out on anything. The hotel is a three star, so don't expect 5 star luxury, however it has been on par with many chalets I've stayed in. The rooms were quiet and clean with everything in there you need. The staff were brilliant, and were a big part in helping to make this holiday such a success. They were all friendly and had no problems helping you out with any queries you had. The vast majority of them spoke 2 or 3 languages and were very knowledgeable, and the cleaning staff were great. The hotel is in a good location, 5 minutes walk max to the bigger chairlifts and the ability to ski out of the hotel to a short poma lift up to the main plaza. As a snowboarder I didn't have a problem getting around and the resort caters well for all activities. Hardly any poma lifts and queues were minimal. The food was very good. A wide ranging buffet including meat, chicken, fish, pastas and pizza, freshly made desserts and an extensive selection of cheese. I definitely had my fill and didn't have a bad meal whilst I was there. In summary, don't be put off by the Club Med package. It includes everything you need (apart from ski carriage/hire) and was great fun.

Club Med Arcs Extreme straddles the main road into Arc 2000. Centrally located & within easy reach to a number of lifts. The regular bus that serves 1800-1600 & the funicular to Bourg St Maurice is only a few minutes walk away. (The swimming pool in Bourg is free with a 6 day lift pass). The Club Med building has a large bar area with great views of the surrounding mountains. There is a band playing live music from 7pm each evening, behind the bar is the very comfy theatre area where the evening shows can be seen. The ski/boot room is located at the basement of the hotel. There are plenty of runs for skiers & boarders of all ability, plus off the top of the Aiguille Rouge lift at 3226 metres there are plenty of off piste opportunities. There is a boarder cross circuit worth a try a ski run that goes through water & a long luge run restricted to 12yrs and older. This does not include the opportunities to be found in the neighbouring resort of La Plagne via the Vanoise express (lift pass to cover La Plagne is an extra supplement). So if your looking for a great skiing experience why not give Club Med Extreme a visit soon.

Overall

The hotel is very basic and a little run down, but the staff are very helpful, friendly and enthusiastic. and the overall ambience is carried mainly by that. Food is not as good as in many other Club Meds I've been to though plenty as always. If you don't mind using the same towels/bedding all week because spending time on the slopes or with your friends/family is the most important thing then this is a good place for intermediate skiers. Skiing was good, with a large selection of easy off-piste, despite the rather unfortunate snow conditions this year. If you are looking for a cheap-ish and limited but enjoyable set-up Arc 2000 is a great deal and with more snow the skiing will be even better.
