Great experience, needs more care from the local rep though - 04/03/2015
Overall

We spent a long weekend at Hotel du Golf in Les Arcs. It's a lovely resort and the hotel is a great purpose built early 1980s venue. It was nicely and thoughtfully designed back then and will soon become a chic retro hotel, not unlike the sought-after Art Deco ones one finds. The breakfast was plentiful, the proximity to the lifts and slopes - second to none, conveniently designed with ski rental shop and store rooms attached, I can't fault it. It would have been nice to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room. But that's it! The resort itself is less lively than Courchevel and Val d'Isere, but has plenty restaurants serving nice local food, a great number of ski shops, which sell the same gear as London, but much cheaper, a half a dozen of bars and a few gift and boutique shops. There are two supermarkets too. There are no green runs though, so it's not ideal for beginners. And many blue runs were of the slightly boring narrow motorway variety. But there are also plenty of nice wide blues and reds and plenty of challenging blacks too. Plus a sledge run, which I would have tried had I been there for a week. Looked like a laugh! The local rep could have been more attentive. We ended up having to call him to figure out when our return airport transfer would arrive. Would have been nice to have that info in the welcome pack upon arrival. But all in all, a fab weekend and good service.
