Recent long weekend to Brides le Bains was overall a great experience. Never tried coach travel to France before but it was a lot better than expected, and essentially a lot more chilled than going via airports. It was a long journey, but the coach was comfortable and there were frequent stops. It was worth paying the extra for club seats (up front coach travel, more leg room, greater recline and the seats moved sideways to give you more space between your travel buddy!) On arrival at the hotel there is a speedy turn around, and the rep that joins you for the last part of the coach trips ensures you have all of your necessary paperwork/lift passes etc if pre-booked to save you time at the other end. The ski hire shop is in the reception of the hotel... bonus! The rooms were ok, clean and comfortable (but a bit dated), however, the bathroom did look like it had recently been renovated with a walk in shower. Personal balcony which was nice and they don't skimp on the heating! Food was very nice, bit limited choice for breakfast unless you wanted to pay extra, but there was certainly enough to go around. Dinners were very nice, 3 choices each night. The nicest touch though is the tea and cakes for when you are back from the slopes...real mugs of tea and slabs of cake, certainly see you through to dinner. Equipment was of a good standard, and ready for you to collect on arrival if you pre-book. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. The only hitch that we had was that no one could seem to agree on the timings the ski shuttle ran - we supposedly missed the last one on our day of arrival which was a bit annoying considering we had been told they would run for as long as needed on the first day... so a bit of a grumpy driver reluctantly agreed to take us after all. The only other timing issue was on the day of return, our paperwork told us to be ready to leave for 16.30, but in reality there is no way the coach would leave before 18.00 due to driver regulations, we in fact got away nearer 19.00 which meant we could have had more time on the slopes... resort staff said it was a UK paperwork thing and we should never have been told that - so advice would be to check with hotel staff in the morning to get a clearer idea. It's a bit of a battle ground to get your gear packed away, showered etc for the return (everyone's luggage is stored in one room so you have to fight for space to pack up your equipment etc). Would definitely consider doing a long weekend again, it really is value for money.

First of all - the service was just perfect! Staff were all lovely and more than willing to help. Only complaints I have is that our bathroom didn't have a plug for the bath and the shower head had no attachment on the wall and that when our room was cleaned half way through our trip we weren't given fresh towels even though they were dirty. Over all it was a great trip. Quality food and a room that was good enough to sleep in.
