Miles and miles of sking. We went over xmas and were very lucky with the weather.Plenty of snow beforehand.Pistes of all standards and plenty of mountain restaurants. However the piste bashers were very lazy and the pistes were not well groomed. For really good skiers this is not a problem. The lift queues were very long and time consuming and they need more high speed lifts. Overall a great area to ski in

Les Arcs is a great ski area for all levels of skier or snowboarder, now linking up with La Plagne and increasing the area further has created so many avenues to explore. We stayed at Les Arc 1800, a short walk to the ski lifts and all the après ski action. I would definitely stay at 1800 if we were to re visit Les Arc again. I would highly recommend the Red Hot Salon and Apocalypse for those late nights out. Great resort, great ski, large area would definitely recommend Les Arcs to all levels of skier or snowboarder.

Overall fabulous skiing. A bit icy due to home made snow at the beginning of the year at vallandry but well groomed pistes everywhere else. Amazing run down to Villaroger from top of L'Aguille Rouge. Grand Renard should be reassigned as a black but great slope to go down. Unsure how they designate slopes as some blues should be reds and some reds black and some blacks easy. Atmosphere and apres ski at 1800 still as good as ever.

Our group of intermediates and novices just came back from the Chantel 2 Residences in Arc 1800. It's a great place to ski and stay - surprised us with variety of well-connected runs and ski areas. The blue runs are great for cruising, varying from flattish 'green' level to interesting bluey-red! Any adventurous intermediate will love the stunning 7km long Aguille Rouge 'black' run (only really black for the first 100 metres of moguls) and the reds in Vallandry are a pleasure. The Vallandry area is great for all levels too, especially now the Vanoise lift to La Plagne is closed for the season - the pistes are very quiet there. The Chantel ski lift provides free access at weekends to the big 'tranquil ski' area which is big enough to amuse beginners for a day. We loved the snow park and everyone got some air on the jumps :-)

Les Arcs has great intermediate skiing for families and beginners, especially snowboarders, with door-to-door convenience so you can walk or ski to the lifts without queuing for buses. The top lift goes to 3200m so there's always guaranteed snow. Plenty of affordable bistros in Arc 1800 (best place to stay) plus great bars to chill for the evening. Part of the humungous Paradiski network so you won't get bored. I've skied there a dozen times and there's still plenty to explore, both open and wooded pistes. Highly recommended.
