Chalet Johmarons 16/01/2013
Lovely location, within easy reach of the centre. Excellent chalet with a hot tub (this could do with being bigger though!) 5 families into a hot tub for 4 people?! Would stay there again.

Les Gets is a charming resort in the vast Portes du Soleil ski area.

The lift pass includes the neighbouring resort of Morzine, which opens up a good number of (mostly beginner/intermediate) blue/red ski runs. It's a great resort for families, and is well-served by the ski operators.

It's a lovely village resort with a wide range of restaurants from family-friendly to more expensive. Many traditional food options, including the famous tartiflette, a dish of potatoes "au gratin" with reblochon cheese and lardons - yum!

Plenty to do for non-skiers and apre-ski. Great ice-rink in the centre of town, and a variety of more 'extreme' winter sports (bob-sleigh, ice-climbing) are available.

A good choice if you prefer the more traditional resorts to the concrete jungle!

Les Gets was great! A group of 8 of us, aged 25ish, stayed at the Chalet Johmarons with our excellent host Will. We were all boarders and the skill level varied from beginners to experts, but Les Gets accommodated us all. Excellent base for exploring the Portes du Soleil region, we all managed (even the beginners) to board from Avoriaz through Morzine back to Les Gets which was a great experience. Only downside is that there’s not much to do in the village in the evenings, but if there’s a group of you you'll have a great time in the chalets. Also good romantic spot, as I got engaged on Pointe de Chery!!
