We had a great week in Livigno. It was the first time we had boarded in Italy and it was a good holiday, the ski area is excellent for beginners and intermediates and everything is easily accessible despite the layout of the town which stretches along a valley.

At the weekend the locals come out so it is busier, but you can do some great ski suit spotting.

The only downside was that the conditions weren't the best as it was quite icy and windy, on our last night there was a massive dump of snow so the conditions looked perfect as we left the resort.

We took a day trip over to St. Moritz and enjoyed a brilliant day on the slopes there - well worth it.

Livigno was the location for our first snowboarding holiday. There are a great variety of slopes for beginners. We booked a 'Madness' snowboarding school instructor for a 2 hour session and he was brilliant. In January, the slopes were crowd free plus we got a good deal through Igluski. The transfer journey was a bit long, but when you get such a cheap deal you can't really complain. We stayed at La Locanda on B&B basis; excellent and would thoroughly recommend it :)

Good skiing for the whole family. This is a really good place for a family ski holiday. The accommodation is immaculate and it has excellent food & drink, very cheap prices (tax-free) and the Italian people are extremely friendly. Not great for advanced skiing, but a very good all-round resort.

Great resort to ski. I have been going there on and off for the last 6 years. The people are fatastic, the snow is reliable and the food is cheap. What more could you want? Go off season to avoid the queues at the lifts.

Livigno is a great place to go whether you are a beginner or expert. Lots of lively bars with happy hours and lots of cheap shopping. Great snow. Will be there again in Jan 2008.
