We had two holidays last year in Meribel and really enjoyed ourselves immensely. The skiing is a perfect 10 and can't be added to by simple comment; there is so much of it out there! Both times we became regulars at Jacks Bar and Evolution; both bars made us feel really welcome (they recognised us from our first visit). They held some fantastic evenings of entertainment also, combined with the Altitude festival. Eating out was generally expensive, Refuge, Evolution and Fromagare were the definitely the best value.

Meribel is one of the most attractive resorts right in the middle of the 3 valleys. It is the livliest of the three valleys. It is very family friendly with a relaxed and fun atmosphere. It is an excellent all round resort that offers something for everyone!

The Skiing is superb especially in the Mont Vallon and Val Thorens areas. We had Good lifts and no queues on our trip during April 2008. Rond Point is excellent for an end of day's ski.

There is excellent skiing to be had in the Courchevel area or over the hill in the Belleville valley. The best run in Meribel is the Combe du Vallon. Pop over the mountain and enjoy the near empty pistes above St Martin, or the great snow in Val Thorens.

Underselling itself with the name Three Valleys, Meribel sits happily in the middle of around five skiable valleys, linking up with Courcheval and Val Thorens. This massive area provides a variety of outstanding off and on-piste experiences. Meribel is exactly as you’d want an Alpine village to look, but without the top-end price tag of some of it's neighbours. As one of the best après-ski bars you're ever likely to see, you must visit Rond-Point as you chase the sun off the mountain. This fantastic venue serves as a good indication of the quality of nightlife in this friendly village.
