Best restaurant in town is Le Jamy run by Jean Paul and Corinne and located opposite the Tourist Office. Bit pricey but worth it - the duck is to die for. Also worth a visit is L'Estable run by Marianne and Patrick, located behind the bakery. For meat lovers have a pierrade - you won't be disappointed. Best après ski is usually to be found in Le Graal, with live music 2 or 3 nights a week and (inevitably) one Karaoke night.

For a more chilled out vibe head to Les Rois Mages to mingle with Les Anglais or the Chaburton for a game of pool. For the night owls the best venue is The Blue Night, a disco-tastic venue lost in a 70's time warp - think vinyl seats, blue glitter walls, dodgy lighting and mirrors everywhere. Open 'til 5am.

For the powder people it is worth checking out the run underneath the chair on the south side in the morning - later in the day head for the Vallee de Chamois - access from the top of Eagle's Rock chairlift. For snowboarders seeking specialist advice/equipment go to the Snowbox located on the main road - ask for Jerome. If you get the time don't miss the chance to head down the mountain to the walled town of Briancon - Europe's highest town.

"Just home from Christmas in Val d'Isere... this was the best ski holiday I have ever been on. Val is stunning, the hotel fabulous, staff sensational and skiing out of this world. We booked through Iglu. They were fantastic. Peter had great ski knowledge, offered advice and went the extra mile. " - Pamela (Dec 2015)
