Sauze d'oulx great resort 19/02/2012
Just came back from Sauze d'oulx and we have had a great time, were lucky cause it had just snowed the week before our arrival and we had been worried that weeks before the resort had loads of lower pistes closed, but not when we got there, we could ski right down to resort and the new grande pista was also open all the way down to the next resort Jovenceu. We were a large group mixed families, friends, young and old. Snowboard school booked through skiinitaly.com and as per recommended by Christine was great just 6 in a class, the younger ones loved it and learnt so quick in their 3 days, great value for money,we booked all our ski packs from Christine and saved loads of money, with the whole package with pass, school and hire we saved almost £40 per person. Followed again recommendations from Christine re where to ski and when for the intermediate skiers and she was spot on. San sicario on Monday, sestrieres on Tuesday, sauze on wednesday, private taxi to montgenevre thursday, sauze friday and genevris drag 1 and 2 on saturday. Follow this hint and you will keep missing the crowds. Apres was great to , so much going on, music live in Miravallino just after apres, same in paddys and evening in Lampione, osteria, cotton, never ending fun......and the highlight was also going down to see italian football live in milan. Again this is really popular so you can FB Ski InItaly in advance and book from the uk. I'm sure you are all going to love Sauze, great people all speak English even in Kali China, children friendly, good value for money drinks and food even up the mountain and only 1 hour away from the airport even if to wait longer for your suitcase at turin then your flight or transfer. Enjoy and see you next year Christine and thanks

Sauze 14/03/2011
Large ski area, yep, Great snow record, yep, Cheap food in resort / mountain, yep, Cheap drink in resort / mountain, yep - Ski in / ski out, yep (from certain locations). Pretty village, yep, Scenic mountain, yep, Short transfer, yep, Affordable packages, yep Sauze really has it all. The ONLY down point is really the lift system... there are no high speed bubbles from Sauze and you can spend quite a while on the chairs getting about. Also there is NO lift of any kind in the snow park!! The runs are not challenging but are fun and there is plenty access to off-piste. Hard to beat.

Review 28/02/2009
The resort of Sauze is cosy and cute, with cobbled streets and quaint restaurants. It is vibrant at night and pretty with a vast display of twinkling lights. Because of its location up the mountainside, Sauze is either uphill or downhill, not a lot in between and this makes for getting to and from the slopes tiresome. The hills are steep in places. I would suggest that this resort is more suited to adults and those that have skied before. The ski bus system isn’t great and the vast majority walk to and from the nearest lift. Sauze does have wonderful views and when we were there it was blue skies and sunshine all the way! It has a good sunshine record and although the snow season has been great this year (2008/09), we experienced rocks on the lower part of the runs down to the village. However, the ski area for intermediates is fab and the link with Sestriere and Sansicario make the walk to and from the lifts worthwhile.

Just came back from a great xmas at Sauze D'Oulx. If your going and want authentic Italian food try the Godfather. It was amazing food and wine that just kept arriving at our table, the atmosphere and service was great. And it's open until 6am. Very good value for money.

Pay for a ski locker at the top Sportinia chair so you only have to carry your skis up the hill at the beginning of your holiday and down at the end. €20pp - well worth it. GOOD RESORT LOTS TO DO AND FRIENDLY
