Cloudy Days - 30/03/2015
Overall

I recommend the hotel. The staff are excellent - very helpful and attentive. They seemed to know who we were from the moment we arrived. The location is great for ski out/ski in, being only 50 metres or so to the Arlara chairlift and an easy ski down to the Col Alt gondola, though the snow got very soft by mid afternoon most days at these lower altitudes and time of season (21 to 28 March). It is a ten minute walk down to the town centre but the hotel is very willing and prompt to send a mini-bus to pick you up after a telephone call when you are ready to return as part of the service - probably take you down as well but we always opted to walk. We paid a little extra to have a Panorama room which gave excellent views across the valley. The room was OK though the duvet was not the fluffy down type we are used to in the Alps. The restaurant is commended for the quality and variety of dishes. Dinner was 5 courses with a choice of two for each course (except the well stocked salad buffet). They also ran different themes on various nights - special buffet of appetizers with glasses of wine in bar, a Tyrolean event before dinner, crepes made to order on hot plates set up in the dinning room and pasta dishes prepared in a similar manner (wonderful sea food freshly cooked!). We did not lose any weight despite a lot of exercise on the slopes! The swimming pool/Jacuzzi/steam and sauna rooms provided great relaxation after a hard day's skiing Good for intermediate skiing in the Corvara area (mostly blues & reds) and then you have the Sella Ronda! Weather mostly cloudy and not cold enough until our last day when it had snowed the day and night before and the sun came out on a cold day - great snow conditions! That's why we will go skiing again!
