My First Trip 26/11/2012
Tignes for me was the perfect place to learn to ski. Friendly staff in the morning lessons and plenty of challenging runs for dare devils like myself to explore in the afternoon with friends. Stayed in a large basic hotel, but didn't mind as I was there for the snow and the nightlife. Tignes did not let me down when the sun set - usually ending up at the Melting Pot. Le lac and Le Lavachet have some beautiful chalets, so definitely worth checking them out. What is even better is you can get an area pass over to Val D'Isere! Amazing holiday.

End of Season Skiing in Tignes 27/04/2011
I have just returned form a very good end of season's trip to Tignes having been tempted by a half price holiday offer.

The well located 24 person chalet was comfortable but in need of updating, although our room was very spacious with the corner bath an absolute luxury. Staff at the Chalet were friendly without being too dominant, and always happy to help whenever advise or assistance was required. However end of season means supplies of food can run low, so next time I might be tempted to pack some teabags and salt.

Having skied in the Espace Killy many times I did not need to make use of the complimentary ski hosting but others who did said it was useful as the area is extensive and can be intimidating for a first time visitor. The snow conditions at the end of season were pretty poor this year and better suited to experienced skiers. The day started with ice then spring crust followed by cement. I enjoy skiing slush as it is unforgiving so your ski technique improves, but for many others in the chalet it meant shorter days on the piste.

Last word on the holiday was that everthing promised by the tour operator was delivered and there were no surprises.

Best ski holiday yet 30/03/2011
We had a brilliant week in Tignes, we went in mid-April and the conditions were perfect. Snow at night, sun by day.

The Espace Killy ski area is fantastic for intermediates. We had some advanced skiers/boarders in our group who enjoyed some great off-piste. The children had lessons in the excellent Marmottons ski school in Tignes Le Lac and made great progress.

Had a great time in the Lavachet area last April, stayed above Scottys in a skiworld "chalet" but spent the bulk of our time in the bar opposite LE BRASEROS which seemed to be the main hub of the action in Lavachet and Tignes!, live music outside on the terrace at apres ski and all the footy made for a great hol. Plus of course superb snow considering the time of the season .

The skiing here is great. I did miss tree lined runs, but you cannot have everything. The pistes are wide and well groomed. I had some great skiing. I also do not think the resort was the eyesore that people claim. Although purpose built, it was clean, tidy and neat like everything else in France. The apr├Ęs scene here is quieter compared to its neighbor Val d'Isere, but you can still find lively bars and clubs.
