Review 27/12/2006
We went in late march 06, so resort was quite dead, good runs with good food/nightlife, close to Kaprun & Saalbach, glacier is well worth a day trip too. Crazy Daisys was the best food I’ve had in a while, also good on the night, après ski is good at the Resi bar. Zell am See is quite a reasonably priced resort too, a beer costing around 1.50 euros (£1), the life pass was a good price at 145 euros (the super salzburg lift pass is 185, which entitles you to a day out at Saalbach & Soll too). I’m going again to experience the resort in full flow in early February 07, my friend who works in this resort has informed us that Zell am See really come's alive in February, with BMW's racing on the frozen lake etc.

Did I mention the food? 10/10, also the 'Ziffler' beer 10*.

The Zell am See ski & board (as I do) area is not that large, but as we found out on the last day, they have opened up a new large area over the back of the 'Smittenhoe' mountain. With a heated 5 man lift, you can board all the way across to the top of the mountain and have food & beer at the famous 'Hans Schnapps' mountain bar/disco, which is right on the top of the mountain. Think dancing on the tables at 2pm, DJ pumping out music!!! yeaaaa!!!

"Just home from Christmas in Val d'Isere... this was the best ski holiday I have ever been on. Val is stunning, the hotel fabulous, staff sensational and skiing out of this world. We booked through Iglu. They were fantastic. Peter had great ski knowledge, offered advice and went the extra mile. " - Pamela (Dec 2015)
