Ski Resorts in the 4 Valleys
The 4 Valleys is the biggest ski area in Switzerland and offers varied terrain across all of its resorts, offering something for all levels of skiers and snowboarders. All of the resorts are easily accessible via lift systems, making the 4 Valleys an even more attractive place.
Verbier is the heart of the ski area, and the most well known Swiss resort as a firm favourite amongst the royals and the rich and famous. It is also Switzerland's liveliest resort with a reputation for its animated après ski and nightlife and renowned for its fantastic range of pistes as well as off-piste skiing. What's more is its picturesque mountain scenery with views of Mont Blanc and Combins Massif.
The more affordable base in the 4 Valleys is Nendaz. It combines modern infrastructure and traditional alpine ambiance and prides itself on maintaining its status as a 5 star resort.
Thyon is a great resort for families as its quieter and offers a number of non-skiing activities and lying on the resort's ridge is Veysonnaz which still maintains its original Swiss village features.
The smallest of the bunch, La Tzoumaz has just 13 pistes but enjoys fantastic snow conditions on its north side as well as being a sun trap on its southern side where you can look out across Verbier resort.
Bruson is great for intermediates and advanced skiers offering 23km of pistes. It's a contrast to bustling Verbier but a quiet haven for freeriders thanks to its excellent forested off piste opportunities.
Skiing in the 4 Valleys
The Four Valleys has over 400km of pistes, one of the largest ski areas. It will be sure to keep all skiers and snowboarders of varying abilities happy with a number of runs, freeride routes and snow parks to try out.
