Maximum Experience Minimal Cost - 18/05/2013
Overall

Having previously enjoyed snow in Scotland, Italy, Spain and France, the winter of 2012/2013 needed to be a relatively cheap holiday due to financial reasons. I had never been to Andorra before and had never gone with a tour operator. I had always preferred to keep the experience my own and never wanted others to dictate where I should go. However, I was most defintely impressed with all aspects of this holiday. The snow was great with a dusting of powder the week before creating some pleasant runs. The runs were varied across the whole resort allowing some of our more inexperienced riders chance to build their skill up. Although you do not need to go with a travel operator to experience some of the different apris ski activities, the savings I made doing so and the ease of organisation (simply tell them want you want to do and pay them and they sort the rest) made it so much easier and gave us more time on the mountain. The husky riding lessons went down extremly well with the girls. The night life was great with a good mix of food establishments. Some good sports bars made up for the fact of missing a football match at home by watching it on the giant TVs. There are several supermarkets with a wide variety of food to enable you to do home cooking and save on the pennies. We opted for the cheaper apartments (Bellavista) and obviously these were the most awkward the reach (steep hill incline at the end of each day was a killer) but this was by far a small blip on an otherwise outstanding experience. A special mention must go out to the reps who made our experience special, they were very good in accommodating to our every need and made sure we were happy all the time. One of the best snowboarding holidays I have been on and probably the cheapest as well.

Above expectations! - 09/04/2011
Overall

We (myself, husband and four daughters) stayed at the Bellavista appartments knowing it was only a 1 star property. As there are six of us we are limited to where we can all stay and also have to take in the cost side of it. We were really pleased with the apartments, although at first I was a bit concerned about the slight hill up for the children, but this was no problem. The apartments were perfect for us, with a fantastic view of the slopes and not as basic as I imagined a 1 star to be! We booked through Iglu rather than Nielsen and saved over £1300. The lockers for the skis were near the ski hire shop so it was not too much to bring them there at the end of the day. The Andorra travel shop — in particular, Gemma, were really helpful with rental of DVDs and any queries we had. The weather was fantastic, it was great skiing in t-shirts! The supermarkets (well mini marts) are very limited so you would need to eat out or bring basic food stuff with you for cooking. I would definitely stay here again. The free ski guide was great for those not having ski lessons, and for our daughters who did, the ski lessons were great! I do not hesitate in recommending Soldeu from 1 star up to 5 plus are there are many hotels there.
