Marliesenhof hotel in Kirschdorf - 12/02/2012
Overall

Warm friendly hotel a little out of town but the ski bus stops at 9.05am outside the gate and takes you free to the ski school but don't be late bus and coach drivers can go a minute early but never a minute late. This hotel does marvellous cakes, the strawberry and choc cake are to die for! Breakfast is cheeses, hams, cereals, toast, jams and most days boiled eggs but not all! Dinner mainly soup starter, then goulash, or pork steak, fish on Friday delicious, one night its grilled frankfurter, another vielenschnitzel etc. No hot puds ;-( Outside the ski school in Kirschdorf there are ski buses free if you want ski in St Johann, then train to Kitzbuhl goes at 34 mins past the hour every hour. or Kirschdorf ski bus to Stenplatte for old hands as lots higher you can almost go to Germany! Ski bus free to Fieberbrunn is excellent for families lots to do..then back for dinner at 6.30pm...and afterwards drinks in the bar, the staff are friendly and most helpful, your skis can be kept downstairs and hired ones left in a hut near the ski school. Taxi always ask how much first..the charge is per person can be 2 euro can be 3..so check, its only 10 min walk or less to the centre.. If not ski-ing theres local buses very good value from just near the big Spar near the Ski school.Theres a tour to Saltzburg,(not the small spa in the village you can get postage stamps at the Spa) In the village there are a few good places to eat and drink and an excellent ski show to go see! PS The Wellbeing Spa just down the road is mixed and in the buff, Im told its excellent by other guests ..

Apres Ski: 4/5
