Chalet Papillon 5 Reviews
My daughter and I stayed at Chalet Papillon 5 from Sat 24 to Sat 31 Jan 2015. Flights were extremely early starts in both directions but this was know in advance. We were met at the airport and on the road to La Rosiere by 11am. The reps were excellent and kept us well informed on details of our holiday. We were met at our chalet by our hosts Dom and Harry and welcomed with a glass of champagne and introduced to the chalet, the resort and our fellow guests. Dom and Harry were excellent hosts; the chalet was always clean and tidy, they cooked breakfast, provided après-ski cakes and a fabulous 3-course meal each evening, except for Wednesday (their one day off). The food was restaurant quality and had an imaginative menu. The lads also provided an honesty bar for guests to buy beer, coke, soft brinks and chocolates. Breakfast was always ready in plenty of time for me to attend ski school without rushing. Skiing in La Rosiere was very enjoyable. I have been to two other alpine resorts and La Rosiere was smaller but felt more intimate and less crowded. And there was the benefit of being able to ski into Italy through beautiful scenery. We did get heavy snow on Thursday and Friday - at least 80cm - which meant that we could try out our skill of skiing in powder. As an improving skier this proved hard work for me and shorted my skiing day but for others, who were better skiiers it was the snow they had been waiting for!!. The weather was cold at times but it was January and we were prepared for cold weather. Wednesday proved the best day - beautiful sunshine and views of all the alpine summits - truly stunning scenery. Overall - a resort I would recommend and would definitely use Iglu in the future.
