Great for groups! - 16/09/2016
Overall

I stayed in chalet L'Olan back in March as a group of 10. The chalet lounge/dining area is nicely set up for large groups and some of the rooms can sleep 3 or 4 so if you don't mind sharing this can keep costs down! The chalet is about a 6 minute walk to the slopes (in snowy conditions) and it is close to shops/bars & restaurants. Our nearest and one of our fave bars was The Red Frog! The nightlife and apres is amazing, I would recommend Pano Bar followed by Umbrella Bar then onto Polar Bar!!! The resort itself was perfect for our mixed group of boarders/skiiers & beginners/ advanced, it is a high resort and has a glacier so it is great for spring skiing! It was also easy for us all to split up and meet back on the slopes. I would definitely return to this resort as I felt I couldn't do everything I wanted to do in 1 week.

All round fantastic time with a minor sour taste. - 08/03/2015
Overall

Accommodation, To begin with, the Chalet itself is comfortable, practical and homely. The bedrooms were immaculate, the lounge area was spacious and all rooms had fully functional washing facilities. Apres Ski, The main street on which we stayed was easy to navigate and had a wide selection of bars, restaurants and shops. We visited places such as, Smokey Joes, The Secret Bar, Smithy's, The Polar Bar, and found them all to be welcoming, fairly priced and atmospheric. Alternative sources of entertainment included arcades and bowling alleys, which again were all extremely enjoyable. Daily Skiing and Ski School, Although the weather was far from perfect, we had five full days of skiing/boarding. The mountains were pact with helpful associates who knew the resort very well and were more than willing to assist with any queries or lack of knowledge we had. Representatives, Our reps were Taz, and Mitch. We had no complaints with these two reps as they were extremely helpful, kept us entertained on the journey to the resort, and showed us around the resort efficiently. Our sour taste began when we met our Chalet Host, Vicky Conway. We feel that she favoured only half of the party. The way in which she treated the younger half of the party was notably different than when dealing with the others. She had a brazenly condescending attitude when dealing with cleaning and queries about dinner. On several occasions when interacting with Vicky. When entering or leaving the Chalet we would receive a faint glance or a mumbled inaudible response. We have stayed over the road before at UCPA Hotel for under 250 per person and feel that for the extra £110 that we could have been treated and cared for better specifically by the host. The food served at the UCPA (which is included in the cost) was alot more diverse, with different themed offerings each night. The food that was prepared in Chalet Lo'lan was lazy bulk cooking, e.g Casserole on a multitude of occasions, with the arrival of a fish pie on our very last day. Overall, We enjoyed our experience yet we believe that the Chalet Hospitality could be improved on.
