Club Med Cervinia Reviews
This was my first time on a club Med trip, I have been skiing for over 20 years and have never done an all-inclusive ski holiday. Firstly the transfer from the Turin airport was effortless. We were welcomed by the Club Med staff with open arms on arrival. Creative drinks continuously flowed throughout my stay. The Hotel was modern, clean and very lively. Once checked in my bags were taken to my room and I was shown to a private area were drinks were served. On the first morning it was a sleek and easy process, My ski pass was waiting for me at reception and the ski hire shop was on site. (Quickest and easiest process ever). Quick Ski bus which was on our doorstep right to the main Gondola. Considering it was the 01 December the snow was great, runs were well groomed and unexpectedly great skiing. The highlight of the trip was skiing right passed the Matterhorn, which is a breath-taking experience and great to name drop when having social conversations about where I have been in the world. After a long day of exhilarating skiing food was on the agenda, options is an understatement, there was a large variety of choice, also adding to the experience were the chef stations, who would prepare dishes in front of you. To top it off deserts were great!!! Gelato, Cakes and more were always available to put the cherry on top. To summarise, I would advise family’s, large groups and even couples to stray towards a Club Med holiday as everything is catered for, quality is great and service is second to none. Very relaxed and eventful holiday. Will be doing Club Med again soon.

May not be to everyone's taste but I have just had a fantastic week in Cervinia at ClubMed. I was allowed out on my own and this was something like my 50th week skiing but my first with CM - and what a surprise. The staff were very engaging, the food was unbelievable and it was a joy to spend a week in the company of so many nationalities (over 30 countries) both skiing, in the restaurant and at the bar. Looks expensive initially but the all inclusive really is value. Only the ski hire was a bit steep but I've always wondered who could afford to reserve a table in a mountain restaurant every day. The mountain food was excellent and drink perhaps a little too free for afternoon skiing - but then you don't get much lemoncello or genepi in the UK. Worth noting that, with chalet ski hosting in question, the ski school included is perhaps the only viable option. Our instructor, Paulo Bic, for whom nothing was too much trouble, didn't just guide but did instruct - and few English skiers won't benefit from that. The snow was variable but Cervinia for skiing did not overly impress, there are better. A massive area that seemed to me a bit randomly pisted but avalanche potential may influence that. The lifts are very long, but there are some good reds - particularly the 16k down to Valtournenche. The police are active on the slopes, mainly to prevent off-piste skiing without all the right gear (transponder, air bag, spade etc.) and the fines are high. Verbier is altogether different but an unreliable return and a very dear taxi back if you get caught by the weather (a Russian couple told me over 900 euros). Piste colours are a bit unreliable and this wouldn't be first choice in Italy for the family, the Branta area (Madonna) or Via Lattea would be better for my mine. My only warning are - do not expect to speak English everyday and to everyone, that's part of the pleasure, and don't go immediately after Christmas with any intention of losing wieight (or if you've sworn off alcohol). But we will definitely look at ClubMed again for a family holiday next time. Now just have to find a job that pays a bit more to afford it.
