Chalet Hotel Breithorn in Champoluc is full of charm and is proving to be a popular choice with our guests.. It is a lovely, traditional hotel which has been beautifully restored and modernised yet keeping all the traditional Alpine features and character. The spacious lounge and reception area has a warming open fire, wooden vaulted ceilings and comfortable furniture to make you feel at home as soon as you arrive.
‘Location, location, location!’
Location really is key here and it is a flat walk to the 6-person gondola in the village centre. This gondola leads up to the beginner’s slopes and more intermediate skiing beyond. The run home ends at the same point and for your convenience we have arranged with the ski hire shop that all skis or boards (whether hired or your own) can be left there overnight to save carrying them the (short-walk) to the Chalet Hotel.
The Chalet Hotel is a perfect mix of traditional and modern to give the ideal atmosphere of a special mountain retreat and a base for the skiing trip. The hotel has recently been lovingly restored and all the traditional features retained thus keeping the unique character of the hotel and a clever combination of old and new. There is a spacious lounge with a small bar and reception area with an open log fire, beautiful carved vaulted wooden ceilings and comfortable furniture on which to relax. The pictures on the wall add a distinguished air and traditional Alpine decorations will remind you that you are in the mountains.
Off the lounge is a small library with a selection of books, perfect as a quiet place to read. There is also a sun terrace, on which you can enjoy some late afternoon sun and an après ski drink at the end of the day. The restaurant is on the lower ground floor and is spacious and tastefully decorated, in accordance with the rest of the property. This is where all meals are taken including the highlight of the day, our Culinary Choice 5-course dinners, all served with quality wines. In addition the Chalet Hotel also has a Wellness Centre with sauna, steam room, whirlpool and massage showers which we are sure will be appreciated by our guests.
There are a total of 31 bedrooms which all differ in layout and decoration. No two rooms are alike except that they are all beautifully decorated with attractive wooden features and decorations. The beds are all twin/doubles so can be made in to continental twin or double beds and all have en suite facilities. All of the bedrooms have a TV and DVD player.
Most of the Large and Superior rooms have an extra bed for a child. On the 4th floor are larger superior rooms which have mountain views and either shower or hydromassage bath. There is also a Junior Suite on the 4th floor with a lounge and separate bedroom.
We set very high standards for our cuisine, and train our staff extensively before the season starts, to ensure that you will thoroughly enjoy every meal on your own holiday with us. We also take our Health and Safety responsibilities extremely seriously, so all our chalet and Chalet Hotel staff during the pre-season training course are trained to the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health’s Level 2 in Food Safety*. For six days of the week our staff prepare all your meals, as described below.
Cooked breakfast including your choice of bacon, eggs, sausages and beans, as well as a continental selection with a choice of cereals or porridge, fruit juices, plentiful tea, coffee and bread (and croissants in France), cold meats, cheese and preserves, which is normally presented buffet-style for you to help yourself.
After a tremendous day’s skiing or snowboarding, return to a hot drink and a selection of freshly baked cakes and savouries (daily except on staff’s one day off). Tea and coffee are also available free throughout the daytime in all our Chalet Hotels.
‘Culinary Choice’ Dinner
Our Chalet Hotels make dinner a highlight of the day, with our 4-course menus served six days each week, accompanied by a choice of complimentary quality wines. Dinner starts with canapés and an a glass of prosecco, generally served in the lounge/bar, followed by a starter, main course and dessert or cheese selection to finish. We offer choices for each course, always including a vegetarian option, and ask that you make your selection at breakfast each day, so that our chef’s team can prepare everything fresh for you that evening. Dinner can be as sociable or as private as you wish, with larger tables for groups of friends, old or new, or private tables for more intimate dining for couples if preferred.
Vegetarian options are always available to choose from our menus, and other special diets can be catered for at a supplement, if booked with us in advance.
One evening each week your Chalet Hotel staff have the evening off, enabling you to choose from one of the local restaurants for that evening’s dinner, which our Resort Representative will be delighted to help you book.
Children's High Tea
Children of all ages are welcome in all our Chalet Hotels on all dates. We serve a separate High Tea at 5:30pm for children aged 11 years and under with an appropriate menu. However, parents may elect for their children (11 years and under) to eat with them at the adult meal times on payment of a £39 per child per week supplement.

Prices shown are per person, per duration indicated, based on maximum occupancy. Descriptions and quality ratings are provided by the Tour Operator (or one of the Tour Operators where similar holidays are offered by more than one supplier). We reserve the right to make minor adjustments to the description or rating based on staff and customer feedback. For payments by credit card, a 2% credit card charge (2.5% for AMEX) will be added to your invoice. If you pay by a UK issued debit card, there is no charge.
