Tatras is connected by a frequent and inexpensive tram service to nearby Smakovec, which has an abundance of original architecture and a fairly easy ski area, accessed by the new Hrebienok funicular. This area perfect suited to mixed groups of skiers, snowboarders and non-skiers.
Approximatly an hour away is Jasna, a compact, purpose built resort, boasting a comprehensive and efficient lift system and skiing suited to all abilities. Beginners progress quickly on conveniently located nursery slopes, intermediates have a variety of reds to choose from and advanced skiers have an extensive off-piste area and can even try a unique ski-touring trip.
