Solden Austraia - April 2013 - 19/04/2013
Overall

Just got back from a weeks sking in Solden with my husband and 13yr old son. We stayed at Hotel Tyrol, a great place with really helpful staff. I'm Coeliac and they catered for my diet with no problems. The best gluten free meals I've been served in a hotel. This hotel is 3 star, I've stayed in 4 * ski hotels in Bulgaria and Andorra and Hotel Tyrol was a much better standard. The sauna is much appreciated after a day on the slopes, but be warned that no swim wear is worn so if this bothers you do go in. Solden is a small resort with plenty of apres ski bars and good resonably priced piste restaurants. We booked ski school and equipment through Igluski. We used Skischule Solden, Domonik was great, he made you realise you are a better skier than you thought. Intersport were very helpful and professional when fitting you with boots and skis, really good equipment at a very good price. My sons boots retailed at €499 and the pair he got had never been hired out! We agreed it was the best ski holiday we've been on, but this could be because it was the last week of the season so was very quiet but the snow conditions were great.

Apres Ski: 5/5
Accommodation & Value: 5/5
