Ski Holidays in Anzere, Switzerland
Anzere, Switzerland lies at 1500 metres and the fantastic skiing rises to over 2400 metres. Anzere is a modern holiday resort on a southern slope, 15 km north of Sion. Anzere is best accessed via Sion (railway station, post-bus service, Sion Airport).
The people of Anzere are exceptionally friendly, and the atmosphere is very relaxed, both on and off the piste. Anzere is an excellent choice for families, with good English speaking ski schools. The long sunshine hours provide stunning views at sunset-time, some of the best in the Alps.
Anzere has 40km of runs that are served by 11 lifts. The majority of the runs are perfect for intermediates, while there are only 3km of easy runs for beginners. Terrain for experts is also limited, but there are some excellent off-piste areas. One of the top attractions is the heli-skiing on the Wildhorn Glacier at an elevation of 3247m. There are also some great cross-country skiing trails.
Other available winter sports are ski-bob, ice rink (for ice hockey) and curling. You can also relax by the indoor pool. Anzere has a wide range of shops, restaurants and a good nightlife.
