Skiing Holidays in Flims, Switzerland

Flims, better known as Laax during the winter months, is only two hours from Zürich airport is one of three ski resorts which are connected to the famous "White Arena ski area" - the second largest linked ski area in Switzerland. 220 km of piste, three-fourths of which is located above the tree line, and teamed with the Vorab-Glacier. Runs are 48% red but for the advanced skier there are some spectacular opportunities for off piste skiing (make sure you start early) and the Crap Sogn Gion World Cup route is an exciting challenge. There is also 60 km of cross country and runs up to 14 km long. Furthermore freestylers have the exceptional benefit of two snowparks and several halfpipes available to them.

Flims, Switzerland which benefits from outstanding sunshine, offers a number of walking routes as well as a vast choice of activities. There is a good sports centre, several swimming pools and extensive walking trails for the non-skier plus numerous mountain restaurants and a selection of nightclubs and restaurants.

Flims itself comprises two areas, Flims-Waldhaus and Flims-Dorf where the ski lifts start from. It is therefore often necessary to take a bus to get around the ski resort.

From Flims, you can reach the ski resorts of Davos-Klosters and Arosa.
