Ski Holidays in St Moritz, Switzerland

Fashionable St Moritz, Graubünden lies in the Engadine valley, under the 4000m Piz Bernina. The setting is beautiful, with the town sitting at the western end of the lake, and the mountains rising steeply to either side. St Moritz is split into two areas: Dorf, built on the side of the hillside and filled with smart hotels and shops and Bad, spreading up the valley from the lake and slightly quieter in character.

When not skiing in St Moritz, there is still plenty to do. The world famous Cresta run; polo, golf, cricket and horse racing on the lake and a health spa in St Moritz Bad. Eating out can be expensive, but there are many restaurants to choose from and the night life in St Mortiz is varied and vibrant.

St Moritz, Switzerland Ski Resort Areas:

The Upper Engadine boasts 350km of piste and St Moritz skiing holidays offer 5 main areas; Corviglia, Corvatsch, Furtschellas, Diavolezza and Lagalb. Set at high altitude, the climate is dry and crisp and the snow is reliable. Like Engelberg, Crans Montana and Villars, the lift system is extensive and queues are not considered troublesome.

Skiing in Graubünden

On your ski holiday St Moritz (Graubünden), advanced skiers will enjoy the black runs at Diavolezza and the non stop moguls at Lagalb. There is tough off-piste skiing on Piz Noir. Intermediates are treated to long and open runs, with the most notable, the Hahensee 6km long run from Corvatsch to St Moritz Bad. Corviglia, reached by funicular, has good nursery slopes running down to the town and beginners can also go to Celerina for other broad nursery slopes. There is terrain park in Corviglia which is home to some of the biggest contests for females. Cross country is catered for along the whole length of the valley (150km).
