Ski holidays in Villars, Switzerland
Villars, although not technically in the Valais, is situated about 1 hour from Geneva and Sion airports and can also be reached by train. It is on a sunny shelf with lovely views towards the Portes du Soleil.
Villars is attractive village, mainly built in chalet style with numerous shops, off piste activities and stunning views making it a resort suitable for both skiers and non-skiers alike. The skiing is ideal for beginners and intermediates and for the more advanced there is huge amount of terrain available on which to play on. From Villars there is the opportunity to visit other nearby resorts such as Leysin, with its famous revolving restaurant, Champéry and the Four Valleys. The Perche-Conche lift has made access to Les Diablerets easier. Bretaye and Les Chaux provide snowboarders with good opportunities.
Villars après ski entertainment is varied and the international clientèle ensures that standards in restaurants and bars are very high. Children are well catered for in terms of skiing, ski school and entertainment. The ski school and kindergarten are excellent and both have many English speaking instructors. Villars is a good family resort, popular with many British skiers.
