Bellevarde Lodge - Merlot, Val D'Isere
The Bellevarde Lodges are an imposing collection of six stone-and-timber chalets situated right on the Santons piste and just a few hundred metres from the Olympique cable car. The Lodges have proved extremely popular with both our regular guests and the national press, described as ‘comfortably chic …the best located new chalets in resort this season’ by the Evening Standard.
Named after some of the worlds favourite wines (plus a brandy!) – Muscat, Merlot, Margaux, Cognac, Savoie, Chablis - each chalet is identical in layout and varies only in orientation and colour scheme. We used genuine old timbers from a local dismantled farmhouse, Italian marble in the bathrooms and polished parquet flooring throughout. The vaulted sitting rooms with exposed beams and floor to ceiling glass boast finest English made sofas and one of the most breathtaking views in the resort. There is a delightful fireplace, sprawling sunny terrace and widescreen DVD television with cinema surround sound. Hair dryers in every room and heated ski boots in the morning are some of the small but important touches.
Thanks to its piste-side position, Bellevarde Lodge is genuinely ski in/ski out.

Meals - Bellevarde Lodge - Merlot, Val D'Isere
Good food is an essential ingredient of every chalet party. The welcoming glass of bubbly and appetising canapés on your first evening sets the tone for a week of tempting cuisine.
Your day starts with a choice of tea or coffee at your bedside (we can leave it outside the door if you prefer). This is followed by a hearty breakfast, including French bacon, tomatoes and a choice of eggs or, if you prefer, porridge; all served with fruit juice, cereals, yoghurt, freshly baked bread, croissants, jams, and a selection of teas and coffee. Once a week your chalet host offers an option of fresh pancakes.
While you are out skiing your host will have laid out afternoon tea for your return – diet-defying cakes, bread, jam, tea, coffee or hot chocolate. First one home puts the kettle on!
Dinner comprises a three-course meal followed by a cheese course, coffee and mints, and all complemented by a selection of extremely palatable French wines. The quality of our wine is of a much superior standard to that which you might have come to expect on a chalet holiday and we have a choice of house reds and whites to accompany your evening meal. In the unlikely event that our house wine proves not to be to your liking then additional choices, including champagne and port, are available from our cellar for a small supplement.
Chalet Hosts: As well as possessing a flair for entertaining and a genuine love of food, our chalet hosts are friendly, unflappable and exceptionally hard working. Having completed a rigorous pre-season training course, each host is encouraged to manage their chalet as if it were their own home. We find this engenders a commitment to your enjoyment and well-being which makes the atmosphere in our chalets quite different. Our chalet hosts have one day a week off. On this day breakfast will be laid out and fresh bread delivered to your chalet. Your host will be delighted to recommend and book a local restaurant for your evening meal.
