Not a Signature 5* Property - but a great resort - 11/02/2019
Overall

To begin with, we were incredibly lucky with the other guests in the chalet - this made our holiday and we loved Val d'Isere. I would not, however, describe this as a 5* signature chalet. All of the guests (including ourselves) booked last minute and luckily paid £600 off the original price - even this was a bit much for the chalet experience. Food was basic and very small portions, cakes were left out all day without covers, bread was rationed and when we asked for more we were looked at blankly. The chalet staff did the bare minimum. We arrived without loo rolls in our bathroom and had to go hunting for them as the staff were out. Equally, in the latter half of the holiday, we had to find more again as the rooms were not cleaned everyday or checked. There were issues with showers, sinks, and loos whilst we were there and in all, I think the maintenance had been neglected. This was a real shame as the chalet could be wonderful. The dining area and sitting area is a great space but the other rooms are very small and you can hear everything - including the bread man coming inside the chalet at 6 every morning. The door code is electronic so you hear this every time someone comes into the chalet - including mystery visitors at 3am one morning - they were not other guests... or chalet staff apparently. If you are also looking for a hot tub that works, perhaps avoid this property; the chalet boys even said it was a very cheap model and the bubbles didn't even work. They had made no effort to fix this before our arrival. Just be wary of these issues but as mentioned earlier, the guests made this a brilliant holiday for us. We will return to Val d'Isere but not to this property for the price and standard as it is now.
