Apres-ski: Where to go
Ask anyone who's been on a snowsports holiday what makes a good trip, and many of them will tell you that the activities off the piste are almost as important as what happens during the day! Everyone enjoys a warm gluwein, vin chaud or demi-pression after a hard day on the mountain, but just how hard the group wants to party may play an important part in the resort you choose to visit. Here are Iglu's top suggestions for a good night out:
Val D'Isere: Home of the infamous Folie Douce apres-bar on the piste, where you can dance around in your ski boots like an idiot, to live funk, soul and dance until lifts close! There are plenty of great bars in the resort, including Dick's Tea Bar, Petit Danois and Underground - all company favourites!
Meribel: Another resort with a great on-piste apres bar (the Rondpoint), offering fantastic live music daily, and the world's greatest toffee vodka - not for the fainthearted! There's also a Dick's Tea Bar and a whole host of bars in town - the resort has a very British feel to its nightlife (there's even a Pizza Express!)
St Anton: No one does apres-ski with quite as much enthusiasm - or beer - as the Austrians. The Moosewirt and Crazy Kanguruh bars are firm favourites of Adam, our Sales Manager!
Pas de la Casa, Andorra: Think Costa Brava meets snow... cheep and cheerful, a young and lively crowd
Verbier, Switzerland: See live performances in BarJo or sip cocktails with James Blunt in Lounge Bar in the Farinet - this resort has it all!
