10. Sauze d’Oulx

Taking Courchevel’s spot, Sauze d’Oulx is our most popular Italian resort. Its delicious Italian cuisine isn't its only selling point, as it forms part of the Milky Way ski area which makes up 400 kilometres of linked pistes. We have a great selection of hotels, catered chalets and apartment options at great value prices, especially for single travellers. Our great value properties include Hotel Derby and the Clotes Apartments which are centrally located in resort for ultimate convenience.

9. Alpe d’Huez

Remaining in the same spot as last season, it’s no surprise Alpe d’Huez is still just as popular. It’s the perfect resort for all abilities and the sunniest of resorts to visit. Alpe d’Huez also saw the first Tomorrowland Winter festival in March as well as the start of the Club Med Alpe d’Huez resort extension which will reopen as a 4 trident resort for the 2019/2020 season. Renovation of the Montfrais gondola was also underway in order for visitors to easily reach the resort’s beginner area in Montfrais. If you’re looking for some inspiration, our recommended properties are the Chalet Hotel Les Cimes and the Chalet Vieux Logis.

8. Les Deux Alpes

Another consistently popular resort, Les Deux Alpes combines snow sure slopes with affordable accommodation options. It’s a great resort for both families and those who love to make the most of après ski and late night partying in the mountains. The ever popular Rise Festival kick started the season in December and will make a comeback this year for endless electronic and house tunes. The resort also started work in La Toura area where the Toura and Lac Noir chairlifts will be replaced by an express eight man chairlift to access the Freestyleland Snowpark, a main attraction for the resort. Chalet Hotel Le Cret, Chalet L’Olan and Hotel Aalborg are our recommended options for prime access to the superb ski area.

7. St Anton

St Anton still remains our top selling Austrian resort. The mecca for crazy après ski and challenging terrain, the resort received well over their average snowfall for the season which saw some fantastic snow conditions on and off piste. Our favourite properties are Chalet Alpenheim and Chalet Rosanna and our top selling property for the season is in St Anton’s neighbouring resort St Christoph, the Chalet Hotel St Christoph.

6. Meribel

In a prime location to access The Three Valleys, Meribel is firm favourite for a picturesque retreat in an epic ski domain. The resort has seen some lift upgrades to make journeying up the mountain a more efficient and comfortable experience. The 6 man detachable Legends chairlift replaced the Plan de l’Homme and the Roc de Fer chairlifts and runs from La Chaudanne to the top of Elements park. The best part is that the lifts are covered and the seats are heated! The Mont Vallon gondola also saw refurbishment with better seating for the amazing journey up to Meribel’s highest peak to access two of its best runs. Read more about this on our top 5 runs in the Three Valleys.

5. Val Thorens

The Three Valleys and Europe’s highest ski resort, Val Thorens is the perfect choice for the ultimate ski in ski out convenience. The resort added another level of viewing the resort from the new ‘The Bee’ double zip line going from the top of the Moutiers chairlift all the way back into resort. The major attraction to the resort is its purpose built design, so you’re never far from the pistes and lifts. The Club Med Val Thorens Sensations is still a favourite amongst the team and our customers for a superb fuss free holiday.

4. Les Arcs

Part of the 425 km of pistes in the Paradiski ski area along with La Plagne, Les Arcs has continued to remain a popular destination amongst families, especially as the season saw the opening of the five trident Club Med Les Arcs Panorama in Arc 1600. It is completed with a wellness space and 3 gourmet restaurants including the family restaurant Bread & Co. which allows children to invite parents to share dinner and family memories. Les Arcs has also enhanced its visitors’ experience at the Aiguille Rouge peak at 3,226 metres. The new 35 metre footbridge allows both pedestrians and riders to maximise viewpoints of the Vanoise National Park.

3. La Plagne

Still remaining as the third best resort, La Plagne offers a whole range of accommodation options to cater for every visitor and skier in its 10 mountain villages. Plagne Centre is undergoing a transformation to improve visitor comfort. The Place Albert Perrière accommodates a covered bus terminal, village square, bowling alley, ice skating rink, and mountain mining exhibition room as well as a new bar overlooking Mont Blanc. The 8 million investment is sure to offer an updated feel as well as non-skiing amenities to keep everyone entertained.

2. Val d’Isere

Taking a backseat from the top spot, Val d’Isere is an attractive resort for keen skiers looking for world class challenging runs, legendary après ski and a range of fantastic accommodation options. Continuing its lift improvements after the Solaise redevelopment, the resort had a brand new 10 person gondola lift from La Daille up to La Folie Douce fitted with heated seats and halving the journey time so you can make it to après ski in no time! Val d’Isere will also make an appearance this Summer in the Tour de France during stage 19 with its neighbouring resort Tignes, so it will definitely be one to watch and see familiar spots. Our number one Val d’Isere property, Chalet Champs Avalins, still retains its popularity.

1. Tignes

Stealing the limelight from its neighbour this season, Tignes forms part of the Espace Killy domain alongside Val d’Isere. Its range of accommodation options, terrain for all abilities and snow sure slopes make it such an attractive resort to go to, despite its less pleasing architecture. The major selling point this season for the avid party animals is the expansion of Cocorico to Tignes, which is one of the best après spots in Val d’Isere for live music. Its glacier makes for superb ski experiences and now that Tignes has the worlds largest and highest open-top cable car, it makes getting to the Grande Motte glacier even easier whilst providing stunning views of the French Alps. Tignes is a top resort amongst the Iglu team and we can’t sing its praises enough! Our favourite properties are the Chalet Hotel Rosset and Chalet Anne-Marie for home from home alpine comfort.
